From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia The 77th Searchlight Regiment (77th S/L Rgt) was an anti-aircraft (AA) unit of Britain's Royal Artillery (RA) formed during World War II.

After serving in Anti-Aircraft Command during the Blitz it was converted into a Light Anti-Aircraft (LAA) gun : British Army.

The Crimean War saw the increase of the Royal Artillery to batteries and in the abolition of the Board Ordnance, which had until then controlled the Royal Artillery. Thereafter the regiment came under the War Office along with the rest of the army.
